Why do we need a youth engagement in community decision making and development?

Youth engagement in general and in particular in the evolution of the community where our youth members are growing is essential not just to their own development but also to the evolution of the community.

• The young generation will spend most of their lives in a future community, therefore they should have a say in the way the community evolves.
• Youth and young adults engagement give them a voice in decisions that affect their presence and future.
• Youth engagement in community development creates a better youth adult dialogue.
• Enables a full spectrum synchronization, between the agendas of all community representatives.
• Enables the youth and young adults to engage in self-advocacy.
• Creating a sense of belonging by having young people become agents of change instead of targets to be changed.
• Providing an incentive to youth and young adults make the community, they helped evolve their future residence.

How can the youth engagement in the long term evolution of their community be accomplished?     

One of the most important elements of a successful engagement of anyone is to start with something that the individual can relate to and in many cases receive immediate feedback.Therefore we believe that the evolution has to be done in incremental states from the known to the visionary and unknown.

• Start at home and implement those elements of social accountability in your own family unit first.
• Collaborate with stakeholders focused on the same mission.
• Every worked and accomplished project becomes an open source platform to be replicated and improved by participants.
• Use the experience to empower your community to work together in the future.
• Utilize your imagination and social innovation skills through research and design.
• Use project based learning( PBL) and question based learning ( QBL)  to optimize understanding and outcome.
• All organization activities will be inclusive and strive to maintain an environment of equal opportunity for all members of the community in the present and future.
